Hand thrown stoneware storage jar with light grey speckled glaze and rust detail. A small piece of rust is attached to the jar at the glazing stage, which runs and reacts with the glaze as it reaches high temperatures. Redox is a shortened version of reduction-oxidation, the chemical reaction that turns iron into rust. Part of the Ferrous Collection - combining clay and iron in it's many forms.
A solid ash lid has been made by hand to fit the jar perfectly. There are three small surface cracks on the base of the jar but it is still water tight.
