Hand thrown stoneware drinking vessels glazed in pale blue or green with rust detail on the rim. Great for cold drinks, especially iced coffee when used with one of my rustbelt pour over coffee filters. There is a discounted price when you order more than one and if you order a cup and pour over filter together.

The name for these cups comes from the Great Lakes region of the US that has suffered population decline, loss of manufacturing jobs and urban decay since the 1960s as a result of deindustrialisation and automation. It also happens to be where I grew up so despite all the negative connotations, I still have a deep fondness for it. The name also comes from the iron oxide - essentially liquid rust - that I brush on the rim of each bowl which melts and reacts with the glazes in the kiln.

Average height 105mm, average width 80mm
