Set of three hand thrown stoneware bowls glazed in pale grey, green and blue. The bowls fit perfectly inside each other to save on storage space. They are great for snacks and condiments.
The name of these bowls comes from the Great Lakes region of the US that has suffered population decline, loss of manufacturing jobs and urban decay since the 1960s as a result of deindustrialisation and automation. It also happens to be where I grew up so despite all the negative connotations, I still have a deep fondness for it. The name also comes from the iron oxide - essentially liquid rust - that I brush on the rim of each bowl which melts and reacts with the glazes in the kiln.
Large bowl: height 80mm x width 115mm, medium bowl: 70mm x 105mm, small bowl: 60mm x 90mm
